    Things Serious, Silly and Sublime

    JanetK / 14 November 2023 / 0 Comments

Things Serious, Silly and Sublime is a collection of Fr Speekmanโ€™s thoughts and reflections from his time as a hospital chaplain and parish priest.ย  It gives readers an over-the-shoulder look at encounters in the life of a priest, where each interaction becomes a source of deeper reflection, even those moments that seem, at first glance, ordinary or routine.

Fr Speekmanโ€™s pithy recollections and personal insights not only reveal a quirky sense of humour and obvious love of people, but give readers a sense of his deep Catholic faith.ย  This engaging little book will entertain, challenge, invite, and console; and ultimately draw readers closer to the heart of Christ.

Fr John Speekman is an Australian priest. After twelve years of teaching in secondary schools throughout Australia and overseas he was ordained at the age of 37 in 1984. Most of his priestly life was spent in parishes including the five years he spent as hospital chaplain in the RPA, Sydney. He retired in 2022.

Things Serious, Silly and Sublime costs only AU$15.

Postage anywhere in Australia is only $10.
